Vermont State Colleges

VSC Green Revolving Loan Fund

The Vermont State College system is composed of five unique public colleges overseen by a publicly appointed Board of Trustees. The campuses and academic centers of Castleton, Lyndon State, Johnson State, Vermont Technical College and the Community College of Vermont are located throughout Vermont. In April 2012, the VSC Board of Trustees, in conjunction with a revised cash management policy, authorized the creation of the VSC Green Revolving Loan Fund. The fund will be used to support energy efficiency and energy saving initiatives proposed by the colleges. The colleges will pay back the principal and interest, and loans will have a maximum duration of five years. Care for the natural environment and working landscape are part of the Vermont brand. So is frugality. By creating investment capacity that is focused on reduction of energy costs, the VSC have reaffirmed their commitment to environmental sustainability, containing the long term costs of college, and continuing to provide an affordable, high quality education to students.
